10 Fun Dates...All Under $20!

 

Everyone may be cutting back on their spending these days, but you don’t have to cut back on your fun. These cool and cheap dates won’t have you breaking the bank. We’ve even thrown in a couple of freebies for ya!


1. Bowling

It’s the one sport where strikes are a good thing. Challenge your BF to a bowling contest to see who can get the highest score. It doesn’t matter if you’re a pro or if it’s your first time. The most important thing is to have fun. Loser has to pay for lunch!


Price: $15 for rental shoes and admission

2. Baseball game

Take your BF out to the ball game without spending big bucks. A lot of stadiums offer discounts, such as student nights, when they have cheap tickets. Score extra points with your sweetie by showing off your baseball expertise. If you don’t know the difference between a home run and a touchdown, ask an older bro or guy friend before you go.


Price: $16 to $20 for upper level seats

3. Picnic in the park

Nothing’s more romantic than spending a sunny spring afternoon with your guy in the park. Make lunch before you go with picnic staples, such as sandwiches, fresh veggies and fruit. What's for dessert? Pie, brownies or cookies! Bring a Frisbee for an extra fun time.


Price: Free if you raid your kitchen, $10 to $15 if you make a trip to the grocery store

4. Movie night

Sure, you could check out a matinee or use a student discount to save some moolah at the movies. Or you could bring the movies home and save even more money. Rent movies from your local library for free (or you may have to pay a small fee). Invite your BF to your house and tell him to bring the popcorn.


Price: Free, or $3 for two movies with a $1.50 rental fee

5. Putt-Putt.

Fore! Even if your guy isn’t the next Tiger Woods, he’ll love an outdoor game of mini-golf and so will you. Putt-Putt guarantees 18 holes of pure summer fun. Some putt-putt places also have  batting cages so you and your guy can get your swing on!


Price: $10 for 18 holes, $4 for 20 pitches each

6. Chuck E. Cheese

Yeah, yeah, we know what you’re thinking, but this kiddie place isn’t just for kids. Most Chuck E. Cheese restaurants have Super Savers Package deals, which are great ways to save on food.The packages include pizza, drinks and game tokens at a low price. What more could you want?


Price: $20 for a large pizza, two drinks and 25 game tokens

7. Carnival

Love is always in the air at local carnivals. You can walk around with your BF holding hands, ride the Ferris Wheel together and take silly pics inside those crazy photo booths. Be sure to give your guy a big thanks if he wins you a big teddy bear or buys you cotton candy.


Price: $16 for admission

8. Biking or hiking

Playing outdoors is bound to bring you two closer. Bust out your bike or grab your hiking boots for a great time exploring Mother Nature together. Many state parks offer free or cheapadmission; just don’t forget to bring H20 and sunscreen!


Price: Free or $4 for a small entrance fee

9. Skating. Roller or ice, it doesn’t matter

Lace up your skates and hit the floor with your BF. What’s more romantic than skating and holding hands? You don’t have to worry about falling if your BF is there to catch you.


Price: $10 for admission and skate rentals

10. Visit a museum

Spend time with your guy and learn something new. There are tons of museums out there—art, space, history, etc. Pick a topic that’s interesting to both of you and check it out. It’s both romantic and educational. Many museums offer free admission or student discounts.


Price: Free, or $10 to $20 if there’s an admission fee
