Five fab dates

There’s no denying that love is in the air. But the whole dinner-and-a-movie thing is getting kinda...stale. This Valentine’s Day impress your crush or current BF by asking him to join you on one of these fun dates.

Don’t have a love interest at the moment? Put a spin and take one of your sistahs out—minus the lovey-dovey parts, of course.

Go stargazing.
What’s more romantic than staring at constellations with your crush? Take your date to your favorite park and try to find the Big Dipper together. Remember to bring a blanket so you can snuggle up. If it’s way too cold outside, visit the local planetarium to see the solar system up close and personal. How could he not want to kiss you?
Get crafty.
Paint-your-own pottery is a fun way to get to know each other and express your creative side. Check online for pottery locations near you. Even if you’re not the best painter, you’ll have a good time getting messy together and making unique creations for one another. You’ll have a souvenir to remember your date, too!

Work it out.
Unleash your inner athlete with sporty outings such as ice skating, roller skating or bowling. These dates are relatively cheap and there’s no equipment necessary. You can rent shoes at the rink or alley. It doesn’t matter if you’re actually good at the sport—the point is to have fun bonding together.

Bring it on.
Nobody likes to lose. Turn a regular date at an arcade into a cool competition. What’s the catch? Loser has to pay for dinner next time. It’s an easy way to guarantee a second date and everyone’s a winner. For a more intense challenge, take your sweetie to laser tag or paintball. He’ll be super-impressed by your down-to-earth and fun-loving personality.

Grab some mocha.
Starbucks isn’t just for lattes anymore. A coffee date is a great way to get to know each other without the pressure of going out to dinner. You can people watch and make up funny stories about other customers. Or, visit your local caffeine spot during open mic night for a more one-of-a-kind experience.
