Parties

10 party songs that will get everyone on the dance floor

One of the most stressful parts about having a party is making sure that all of your guests are having a good time. You can plan every last detail, from the theme to the food to the decorations, but still feel like something is somehow...off. If you're worried that the vibe in the room isn't lively enough during your next stint as host, GL has the solution. Music is the #1 way to turn a party around, and we've gathered 10 of the best songs to get everyone dancing, laughing and enjoying themselves. No wallflowers allowed at *your* party!

10. "Party in the U.S.A." by Miley Cyrus

Miley released this fun 2009 single during her final days as Hannah Montana, and to this day it gets everyone noddin' their heads and movin' their hips. It's the ultimate anthem for any bash.

9. "Only Girl (In the World)" by Rihanna

Basically any Rihanna song will work, but this one is especially well-loved; One Direction even sang it during one of their early performances. There's a reason it won Best Dance Recording at the Grammys!

8. "Hey Ya!" by OutKast

If this classic song doesn't get your friends on the dance floor immediately, you might want to check to make sure that they're still breathing.

7. "Yeah!" by Usher, ft. Lil Jon and Ludacris

Okay, so half of the lyrics might just be the word "yeah," but Usher is practically the king of dance music, and this is one of his all-time greatest hits. If this song doesn't work, you can try "DJ Got Us Fallin' In Love," "OMG," or "Scream" as backups.

6. "What Makes You Beautiful" by One Direction

So what if some pretentious guys roll their eyes? You'll be dancing with your friends, and having way more fun than them anyway. Plus, they'll be begrudingly nodding along to the beat...whether they realize it or not.

5. "Crazy in Love" by Beyonce ft. Jay-Z

Before Beyonce and Jay-Z got married, welcomed a beautiful daughter and learned they were expecting twins (!!!), they recorded this awesome song that is still *perfect* for parties. Channel your inner Queen Bey and pull all of your friends on the dance floor with you.

4.  "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" by Shakira

Chances are, every single one of your guests will already know all of the moves. Even if they don't, it's just an excuse to teach them.

3.  "All I Do Is Win" by D.J. Khaled, ft. T-Pain, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg & Rick Ross

This one is especially good if you're celebrating a successful soccer game, an undefeated basketball season or this semester's straight A's.

2. "Low" by Flo Rida ft. T-Pain

Even if it makes no sense that Flo Rida's muse would be wearing both her "boots with the fur" and her "Reebok's with the straps," this song is still a massive party anthem, which explains why it spent 10 consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100.

1. "Toxic" by Britney Spears

Britney is a pop icon, and any of her songs from "Womanizer" to "Oops!...I Did it Again" should do the trick. We love "Toxic," though, for its fabulous music video and pulsing synthesizers. The next time you're looking to bring your guests out of their shells, try turning the volume on this one all the way up.
