5 spring coffee recipes you can make at home

POV: You've been bedrotting for hours and get out of the house just for that $7 coffee you've been thinking about all day. We get it—somehow, homemade coffee never measures up to the drinks from your cutesy local coffee shop (and tbh, ninety percent of it all is just for the experience).

But we'll let you in on this secret: You can easily freshen up your coffee recipes with fun, seasonal flavors.

We know fall is all about pumpkin spice, nutmeg, cinnamon and other warm, cozy flavors. But for spring (eee!), it's time for light and sweet flavors like lavender, honey and rose vanilla (tbh, anything floral and refreshing). To tap into the spring spirit, here are 5 ways to incorporate these flavors into your coffee recipes at home.

1. Blackberry Lavender Latte

Cue "the lakes" by Taylor Swift, because this latte's got us daydreaming about watching wisteria grow right over our bare feet. In the spirit of spring blossoms, this drink brings all the nature-y vibes to your morning.

@dawncaffechatt

What you'll need:
+ Brewed coffee or a premade store-bought coffee (we love this Unsweetened Medium Roast Iced Coffee)
+ A splash of your creamer or milk of choice
+ 1-2 pumps lavender syrup
+ 1-2 pumps blackberry syrup

2. Matcha Honey Refresher

Would it really be a perfect spring day without matcha? There are *so* many delish matcha recipes, but to make it more ~spring~, we recommend adding in some light sweetener like honey. And, we know—a refresher isn't exactly coffee, but it's still a staple spring drink that's super refreshing and energizing

@moox54

What you'll need:
+ 1/2-1 tsp matcha powder mixed with 1/4 cup boiled water and honey
+ drizzle of honey in cup
+ 3/4 cold water
+ 1-2 tsp lemon juice
+ (Optional) a splash of your creamer or milk of choice

3. Vanilla Rose Latte

Getting tired of your regular vanilla latte? A touch of rose is just what you need to freshen up your coffee dose this spring. This light floral flavor pairs perfectly with spring-day daydreams in flower fields—or just any rough early morning, tbh.

@bloomcafe_dallas

What you'll need:
+ Brewed coffee or a premade store-bought coffee
+ Splash of vanilla creamer (we're *obsessed* with this sugar-free almond coconut creamer!)
+ 1-2 pumps rose syrup
+ (Optional) java chips

4. Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Latte

Yep, you read that right (and we're squealing with you). Who said chocolate-covered strawberries were only for spring picnics? You can easily bring this flavor into your coffee for the ultimate sweet treat of the szn.

@ligaturecoffee

What you'll need:
+ Brewed coffee or a premade store-bought coffee
+ Strawberry cold foam (use an electric whisk to combine strawberry puree with your creamer or milk of choice!)
+ Drizzle of chocolate mocha syrup in your cup
+ Splash of your milk of choice

5. Strawberry Matcha Latte

We don't make the rules, but a strawberry matcha latte is a spring *must*. It's the perfect combination of earthy meets sweet—like, what more could you ask for?

@homeboy.coffee

What you'll need:
+ (Optional) espresso shot
+ Strawberry puree (you can make your own by mixing smashed strawberries, some lemon juice and sugar!)
+ 1/2-1 tsp matcha powder mixed with 1/4 cup boiled water
+ Splash of your choice of creamer or milk
