Sink Into Homemade Bath Salts

Between backpacks and sports teams, you’re body takes a beating when you head back to school. This quick-‘n’-easy recipe will get you into the bath and feeling better in no time!

What you’ll need:

1 cup Epsom salt
1 cup baking soda
Essential oil of choice (GL likes lavender for its soothing properties and peppermint for treating aches and pains)
Medium-sized bowl
Spoon
Empty jar
Optional: food coloring

What you’ll do:

Measure out the Epsom salt and baking soda and mix together in the bowl. Add the essential oil you chose, anywhere from 5 to 30 drops depending on how strong you want the scent of your salts to be. If you want to add a punch of color, add in food coloring drop by drop to get the color you’re yearning for. (Go slowly! You’ll only need a few drops!). Mix it well and spoon it into your empty jar. For bath time, add a few tablespoons to running water. Don’t forget the bubbles!
Gift it! Choose a festive-smelling oil or one of your bud's favorites and mix up a batch. Buy a few inexpensive glass jars at a craft store like Michael's, wrap a cute ribbon around the lid and gift away.
