The ultimate at-home spa guide

Eager to get glam while social distancing? The answer is closer than you may think.

Although brands are releasing kits catered to pampering indoors (mani rescue sets, body masks, and more), you can establish your own at-home spa using ingredients that are already in your pantry—DIY face masks, hand scrubs, and hair treatments will have you glowing from head to toe. "Giving your complexion a little extra attention is much needed in this difficult time," explains celebrity makeup artist Danielle Parkes, who has worked with Lauren and Maddie Orlando, Lexi Underwood, Maude Apatow and Jenna Johnson. "Not only will it get your skin in tip-top shape, but it will also help you destress and distract you from everything going on in the world."

Try one of the following recipes for stronger nails, shinier hair, and smoother skin—by the time quarantine is over, your beauty goals will have already been achieved.

Honey Hand Scrub

Loads of soap and sanitizer can seriously dry out your hands. Use this scrub to make them feel buttery soft again.

How To:

1. Mix 3 tbsp honey and 1/4 cup sugar.

2. Massage the scrub on the palms and backs of your hands.

3. Let the scrub sink in for 5 minutes.

4. Rinse off and dry thoroughly.

5. Follow with a hydrating lotion.

Olive Oil and Honey Hair Mask

With salons temporarily suspended,  your strands may be taking a turn for the worse. Counteract brassiness and split ends with this easy-to-make mask.

How To:

1. Mix together 3 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp honey until fully combined.

2. Wash your hair with shampoo and let it dry.

3. Divide your hair into one-inch sections and apply the mixture. Cover with a shower cap and wait 30 minutes.

4. Rinse with warm water.

Banana Face Mask

Bananas contain vitamin A, which nourishes and repairs dry, dull skin. Your complexion will appear visibly moisturized upon just one application!

How To:

1. In a small bowl, combine 1 mashed banana, 10 drops lemon juice, and 1 tbsp honey.

2. Once thoroughly mixed, apply a generous layer to your face using a brush or your fingers.

3. Let it sink in for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water.

Avocado Face Mask

This superfood is just as beneficial when applied to your face—its healthy fats seep into the skin to deliver optimal moisture.

How To:

1. In a small bowl, combine half an avocado, 1 tbsp honey, and 1/2 cup hot water.

2. Once thoroughly mixed, apply a generous layer to your face using a brush or your fingers.

3. Let it sink in for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water.

Chances are your nails are in desperate need of nourishment. Use this mask to give them the TLC they deserve.

How To:
