Looking for a sweet and personalized handmade gift to give your bestie for her birthday? These alphabet necklaces are super stylish and surprisingly simple to make. Create one with her initials, her pet's name or even her favorite motto if you're feeling adventurous!

Best of all, you can get everything you need for this DIY at your local craft store. All you need is 18 gauge wire, needle nose pliers, a pair of wire cutters, a jump ring and a necklace chain. You can choose either gold, silver or copper wire—just make sure your chain matches the color.

Start by cutting a small piece of wire. The length will vary depending on what letter you're making and how big you want the pendant to be, but somewhere between 3-4 inches is usually good. Then, take your needle nose pliers and start to bend the wire into the shape of the letter. Work in small sections and curl the ends of the wire under for a polished look. This might take a little patience, but craft wire is pretty bendy. You can always use your fingers to bend it if the pliers aren't working.

Once you're done forming the letter, cut off the excess wire and fine-tune any wonky sections with your pliers. Place the letter on a small jump ring and attach it to the chain. Ta-da!
