In the News: Ban on Uggs?

Ever heard of Ugg-boots-turned-smuggling-assistant? For Pottstown Middle School in Pennsylvania, the popular oh-so comfortable boot has been banned for that very reason. Some crafty kids had been sneaking "contraband" items in and out of school through their boots!

According to ABC News’ Amanda Carey, the ban covers all kinds of open top boots, not specifically Uggs. But you and I both know how ever-popular the furry boot has become over the years. After all, why actually put on shoes when you can slide your toes into a pair of big slippers?

The students at the base of the problem have been hiding cell phones and other electronics in their boots, which, as you chicas know, aren’t supposed to be actively used during school hours.

However, it has been made clear that if the problem goes away, the school with revoke the rule and the boots can have their comeback.
But, what do you think, babes?  Does the school have any right to put a ban on the students’ choice of clothing just because of a few students who broke a rule? Or, is it justifiable? Blog it out!
