The best photo editing apps to keep your Insta game strong

Been feeling like your go-to filters just aren't cutting it anymore? Maybe Lo-fi and Valencia just aren’t what they used to be, or you're tired of having to pay for apps to keep your followers impressed. Below, our five fave apps for keeping your feed oh-so-fresh.

VSCO Cam

This app is the go-to for many Instagram users. It has 10 free filters and lots of different options for editing saturation, exposure and the like. (And if you’re really into it, you can purchase even more filters.) VSCO Cam also allows you to upload your edited images to their site, so you can show off your fave travel pics or artsy selfies without overloading your Insta feed.

Free for Android and IOS

Autodesk’s Pixlr Express

Pixlr Express is the perf app for any type of photo correction. If you’re looking to cover up a blemish or eliminate a little dust from the image, this app will be able to do the job. Plus, if you’ve ever dabbled with Photoshop, it has several effects that are super similar to the popular editing software.

Free for Android and IOS.

Snapseed

Though this app might not be the best option if you’re looking for more filters, it’s an excellent choice if you want more freedom when it comes to editing color and light. The app allows you to change things like light exposure in parts of an image, instead of the whole thing. No more washed-out faces!

Free for Android and IOS

Photo Editor by Aviary

This app not only has basic editing tools like cropping and rotating, but it also allows you to add stickers (like a little sombrero for your kitty!) and draw directly on the images you upload for a so-cute original upload.

Free for Android and IOS.

Filters for iPhone

If you’re just looking for a few more filters to inspire your Instagram photography, this app is exactly what you need. Filters for iPhone has over a thousand different ways to transform your photos with filters, textures and overlays. It costs only $.99, making it totally worth it if you’re Instagram-obsessed.
