Heart Your Heart for National Heart Awareness Month

This month’s all about love, romance and hearts. And by “hearts,” we’re not talking about those adorable valentines you’re handing your besties.

Yep, February is National Heart Awareness Month, so take a few minutes to become a li’l more aware and do your part!

Red-dy, set, go!

Didya know that February 5 was National Wear Red Day? This special day was launched by the Go Red for Women movement to promote awareness for heart disease. People all over the nation wore the color of passion to celebrate the power we have to fight heart disease and stroke.

Just ‘cause it’s past the actual date doesn’t mean you can’t have a Wear Red Day any day this month. Band together with a church group, your fave club, your class, your grade, or even entire school to have a Wear Red Day. With such a simple (not to mention super-chic!) way to make such a powerful statement, what's not to love?

Shop your heart out

For all your shopaholics out there, here’s the perf opportunity for you!  When you buy anything from shopheart.org, the proceeds go straight to the American Heart Association, Start!, Go Red for Women or Power to End Stroke. Online shopping AND helping out a great cause—what’s not to love?
