Party plans to ring it in right

Pick out your flashiest party dress and you’re most eye-catching shoes, girlies, because New Year’s Eve is right around the corner!
The new year may be a time to start fresh and set some goals for the coming year, but the 31 is a night to celebrate how amazing 2010 was. Whether you’re having a huge party with a hundred of your friends or watching the ball drop with Mom and Dad, make sure your New Year’s Eve rocks by following these tips:

The Look

New Year’s Eve is all about flash and pizzazz, so make sure your outfit is totally decked out. You’ll look awesome and feel great too. Sparkles are a must in not only your outfit, but makeup too (think eye shadow, gloss, etc.).

The Big Party

If you’re hosting a party, be sure to have all the appropriate New Year’s party favors. Don’t forget the plastic 2011 hats, horns, tiaras and glasses. Also, try some fun party games with your friends to break the ice like, “two resolutions and a lie” (just like “two truths and a lie”) or charades using topics that were big during 2010. And don’t forget your top 2010 hits play list, sure to get everyone pumped up.
The New Year’s Slumber Party

Spending the night with your BFFs? Have a crafts night and make collages documenting your favorite memories of 2010. You can also fill old coffee cans with dry, uncooked rice or candy to make a noisemaker to shake when midnight rolls around. Then you can all decorate them super cute.

The Family Night

If you’re staying in with your fam for the night, take advantage of it for some serious bonding time. Play some games or sit around the fire and talk about your favorite family memories from first decade of the new millennium. Be sure to catch the famous ball drop from N.Y.C. on TV and make some serious noise when it hits the ground.

The Date

Spend a romantic evening with your crush. Go to dinner or a movie early, then head back to your fam’s house for the countdown. No need to plan an overly elaborate night. Maybe you’ll get a special midnight kiss!
