Classic '90s teen movie marathon sleepover

Craving a girls’ night in, but don’t know what to do? We know you’re tired of the same old gossip and makeover sleepovers, so try something new! Rather than hosting the classic slumber party, throw a spring spirited movie night! Nothing says girls night in like some '90’s classics. Plan this get together for a sleepover you’ll never forget.

Gather up the girls
With a marathon like this, you’ll want your all time besties to be there. Keep it cozy by only inviting your closest friends-- you don’t want to run out of popcorn. Make a Facebook group or send a mass text to let your gal pals know the deets. Stay simple and say something like, “Hey girls! I’m throwing a movie marathon at my place. Show up before dinner at around 5:30, so we’ll have plenty of time to watch the flicks. If anyone wants to bring some tasty treats, that would be awesome! See you Saturday.” They’ll be super excited and, with a message or text, they’ll know it’s on the DL for just your close-knit clique.

Pick from the list
There are tons of hilarious and romantic flicks from the 90’s to bring to your sleepover, but which ones do you choose? Unless you want it to be a week long sleepover, narrow it down to about 3 or 4 movies. Here is a list of 90’s classics we heart:

Clueless

Never Been Kissed

Home Alone

Little Women

That Thing You Do

10 Things I Hate About You

Emma

Drive Me Crazy

The Wedding Singer

Ever After: A Cinderella Story

Set up

Before your gal pals show up, it’s important to set the movie mood. It’s gonna be a long night, so keep everyone warm and cozy by tossing piles of pillows and blankets all over the couches. Because the marathon is starting early, make some pizza for dinner. We don’t want your guests getting so hungry that they can’t focus on the movies! Have treats set up on the coffee table for when your besties are in the snacking mood-- think sweet and salty goodies. When your BFFs arrive, they’ll be so excited to jump on the couch, pop in the DVD, and start snacking.

Let the marathon begin
Once everyone is settled in, it’s time to choose the first movie! Lay all the DVDs out and have your besties choose their number one picks. Because it’s a whole marathon, pop in the one that everyone wants to watch first. This way, if people fall asleep in the middle of the night, at least they got to see their fave flick! As soon as the DVD starts playing, snuggle up on the couch and prepare to laugh and cry with your closest girls.
