5 dos and don'ts for crafting the perfect slumber party guest list

The key to sleepover success? The guest list. Whether it’s an all-out bash or a one-on-one, check out these Dos and Don’ts for your overnight invites.

DON’T make it exclusive

The worst invite mistake you can make is being cliquey or picky. We know you only want your absolute faves to make an appearance, but only leaving a few girls out is not the way to go. So either include those guests you’re not BFFs with, or keep the peeps down to just your super close crew.

DO reunite with an old friend

A forgotten camp friend, your preschool pals…we could go on and on with a list of friendships you should revisit. Sleepovers are the perf way to build the bond all over again. So go ahead- do some mental time traveling and make it a reunion.

DON’T choose a bad combo

Jen and Sammy are your best buds. But ever since Sammy kissed Jen’s ex, tensions have been running high. Yup, it stinks, but a chill-sesh with the three of you is an absolute don’t. No matter how much you love these ladies, if they don’t get along, it’s bound to go wrong! Save yourself the drama and schedule them separately.

DO invite someone new

Looking to mix it up? Inviting someone outside your group of usuals is an awesome way to make new memories and boost your new friend’s confidence. Whether it’s the new kid in school or the shy girl you’ve known forever, leave your comfort zone behind and offer her an invite.

DON’T pick her ‘cause she’s popular

Having plans with the cool girl does not mean automatic fun. As exciting as it’d be to do a little bragging, genuine good times only happen when you’re with the girls you really love.
