6 steps to your girliest sleepover ever

Girls’ night out? Try girls’ night in! No need to have an expensive night out on the town when you can plan the perfect night in for your and your BFF’s. From invites to activities, this is your how-to for that girly sleepover you’re in the mood for.

Step 1: Invite the girlies

It’s not a party if no one’s there! Send out an invitation at least one week ahead of time so you know your friends are reserving their night for you. If you want, you can head to the store and pick up a pack of pretty and pink invites, or even send out an adorbs e-vite to all your gal pals. If you want to get a little more personal, try a DIY invitation on the computer that you can print out and decorate with stickers, pics of you and your friends, or of course, glitter. If you really want to do it the old fashioned way, make the whole thing from scratch. Scribble down a short list of girls you love to hang with and stick those invites in the mail ASAP!

Step 2: Dreamy Décor

Spruce up your bedroom or basement with some festive decorations to make your BFF’s excited as soon as they walk in. Pick a theme, and don’t be afraid to go all out. Remember, these are your besties, they’re not gonna judge ya! You don’t have to go too over the top, try just getting a bunch of pink decorations, balloons, plastic ware, blankets, and whatever else you want to give the room an automatic girly vibe. You could also go for a “Night Under the Stars” and hang a bunch of starry night decorations from your ceiling and walls. Don’t forget to move around your furniture so there’s room for everyone to sleep.

Step 3: Sleepover Snacks

Remember, these girls are coming for the whole night, and you guys are bound to get hungry! Be prepared with tons of sleepover snacks, and maybe even plan out some DIY snacks to do throughout the night. Making popcorn for the movies or just baking some treats for fun are great activities to throw in throughout the night. Check out these sweet treats for some super yummy ideas: almond rocky road bites and choco-covered pretzels.

Step 4: Must-Have Music

Don’t forget to make your slumber party play list to keep up with the mood of the night. Make sure you choose upbeat songs for some dance parties and warn your mom to prepare herself for some major singing coming from the basement! Songs like “22” by Taylor Swift, “Heart Attack” by Demi Lovato and “Kiss You” by One Direction are perfect to dance around to as you and your besties gossip about the cutest boys and best dressed gals in school. What are you waiting for? Go get that iPod ready!

Step 5: The Best of the Chick Flicks

It’s not a girly sleepover without some classic girly movies. The Princess Diaries, A Cinderella Story and The Notebook are all movies you def can’t get your BGF’s to watch, so now’s the perfect time! You can even pop in 17 Again and giggle with your girlies about how dreamy Zac Efron is. We also recommend The Last Song, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants or the Bring It On serious for some feminine movie fun.

Step 6: Now What?

Preparing activities and games before your sleepover is an absolute must. You don’t wanna get caught with nothing to do – and of course it would just be awful if your party guests got bored! So what are you going to do the whole night? For starters, tryout some DIY projects, and decorate something sleepover-esque, like your pillowcases! What better way to remember your slumber party than a brand new, customized, pillowcase? Next, it’s spa time! Hair makeovers, mani-pedis, and DIY facials are such an awesome way to kick back with your girlies and relax after a long school week. When that’s done, put that play list you made to the test with some kick-butt karaoke competitions! As the night begins to wind down, tryout those classics like Truth or Dare and trivia games are a great way to keep your girls entertained ‘til they close their eyes.
