Bite-size burgers: So-easy cheeseburger sliders

Want to up the fun factor at your next cook-out? Miniaturize the menu! For a main course, we're digging bite-sized cheeseburger sliders (with your choice of cheese, naturally!). Take a peek at the recipe below, then give it a try!

Ingredients:
2 pounds 80/20 ground beef (that's 80 percent meat, 20 percent fat)
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp onion powder
Dinner-sized potato rolls
Assorted cheeses (we like classic American, pepper jack and cheddar)
Assorted toppings (try caramelized onions, pickles, slaw, bacon and classic condiments)
Directions:
Put the beef in a large bowl and add the seasonings. Use a fork to gently combine the ingredients--you don't want to compact the meat. Shape the meat into 12 2-inch patties that are roughly the same size.
Preheat a griddle, non-stick pan or grill to medium-high heat. If using a grill, brush with olive oil to prevent your patties from sticking. Then drop your patties on. Don't crowd them! You might need to cook them in shifts.
Cook for 4 minutes, then flip with a spatula and cook for another 4 to 6 minutes (or longer, depending upon how well done you like them). For the last few minutes, top the patties with a slice of cheese and cover with a lid or piece of tin foil. Use a spatula to scoop it up and pop it on a bun, then pile on the toppings and serve it up!
