Shake up your week with this sweet shamrock recipe

 

Next Friday is St. Patrick's Day so it's the *perfect* time to sip on something green and delicious. This festively frozen treat is super easy to whip up (literally!) and, if you're allergic to dairy or lactose intolerant, you can swap out the milk for almond or soy milk and the ice cream for another lactaid-free alternative. 

Ingredients:

- 3 cups vanilla ice cream
- 1 3/4 cups whole milk
- 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
- Green food coloring
- Optional: whipped cream and cherry

Directions:

1.  Blend the first four ingredients in your blender. If you don't have a blender, allow the ice cream to soften and then mix vigorously with a spoon.

2. Pour into a glass and top with whipped cream and a cherry, if desired.
