Eat Right

The most Instaworthy food trend you need to try

It seems that one of the most recent (and photogenic) food trends of the year has been bowls. Yes, bowls. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and any other meal you might want have all been eaten out of them and displayed in fun and creative ways. Check out the guide below to the trendiest way to present and consume your food this year.

The Power Bowl

This bowl is similar to a salad but with a *lot* more than just leaves. Power bowls have all different types of vegetables, grains and proteins, and have less carbs than sandwiches. They seem to be quite popular in cities like Washington D.C., New York and Los Angeles, but you can always just make them at home too!

The Burrito Bowl

The burrito bowl is so much more than just Chipotle. In fact, there are actually some super healthy burrito bowl recipes out there. A lot of people are piling all different kinds of veggies and grains onto their bowls to make them super healthy and Instaworthy. The best thing about them is that they’re easy to make—all you have to do is just throw all your ingredients into a bowl, top with a bit of spice and cilantro and your work is done.

The Sushi Bowl

This bowl is every sushi lover’s dream come true! All the fun of sushi, but in a much larger bowl with an *amaze* amount of rce. The sushi bowl (being as trendy as it is) is available in a variety of places around the country, but of course they are a huge trend around New York City. They are really simple to make since it’s pretty much just a big bowl of rice, seaweed and fish, so go ahead and whip up your own!

The Acai Bowl

Fruity, delicious and loaded with health benefits, the acai bowl is the mother of all bowls. You’ve most likely seen an acai bowl Instagram from one of your favorite bloggers or celebrities, since they’re just too pretty not to share. The base is made of a super thick acai smoothie, which may seem simple, but you can go crazy with toppings: strawberries, granola, kiwi, banana, nuts, goji berries—the possibilities are nearly endless. Because of their popularity, there are tons of restaurants all over the place that serve this delicious dish, but you can totally just create your own!

What is your favorite food trend of 2016 so far? Have you tried any of these bowls before?
