You're never too old to keep a diary — here's why

I know what you’re thinking: “I’m too old for a dairy!” But in reality, everyone, at any age should keep a diary or personal journal. Here are a few reasons why...

Think of your diary as your best friend, someone you share all your thoughts with. A diary won’t judge you, it won’t talk back to you and it will "listen" to. Having a bad day and you don’t want to talk to anyone about it? Vent to your diary. Having the most perfect day ever? Write down every single detail so you can relive that memory any time you want.

A diary can help with anxiety and stress more than you can imagine. If you’re having bad anxiety or stressing out big time, pull out your diary! Write a list of all the positive things that are going on in your life or doodle to take your mind off of the stressful stuff. It can bring you so much comfort to pour your heart into the pages of your diary.

A diary is also the perfect place to keep track of your progress toward personal goals. Even if you have a pretty lowkey goal, like keeping your room clean for a week straight, writing it down will make you more motivated to do just that. Or maybe you have a huge goal that you’re not ready to share with the world just yet. You can share it in your diary and write daily updates on just how close you are to reaching it.

The best part? You can make it all your own. Decorate it, doodle all over it, color code the pages or add fun stickers. And if you’re worried about someone seeing it? You can keep a top-secret digital diary on your phone. Check out diary apps like Moment Diary, which will keep all of your entries password protected.
