How to refresh after a sleepover

The morning after a sleepover can leave you feeling blah. That lack of sleep (coupled with tons of treats) can totally throw off your day. If you're feeling the post-sleepover rut, there's no need to worry! We've got the ultimate list of hacks to start feeling like yourself again.

1. An ice roller and sheet mask are your skin's best friend

Treat yourself to a little self-care moment. Pairing a sheet mask with an ice roller is a relaxing way to refresh skin that might be feeling, well, a little gross. There are tons of sheet masks available for different skin types and needs (for a good all-purpose option, check out the Tonymoly I'm Real Lavender Sheet Mask, $4, ulta.com). Find a formula that works for you and apply it for 10-15 minutes (preferably while listening to a relaxing playlist). Then, take an ice roller and move it in sideways and upwards motions. Your skin will thank you later!

2. Reset your space

Nothing says refresh more than giving your space some TLC! When your room is organized, so is your mind. Unpack right when you get home and clean up any messes you left behind before your night out. Take some extra time to change your sheets, make your bed and deep clean your room. This will make you feel like a brand new gal, trust.

3. Take in *all* of the nutrients

Although we heart all the sleepover junk food, it can leave us feeling sluggish. Give your body the nutrients it's missing by making this fruit- and veggie-packed smoothie! Add strawberries, blueberries, banana, spinach, avocado, honey and your milk of choice (we prefer almond) to a blender. Pulse the ingredients until your smoothie is creamy, then sip, sip away.

4. Catch up on sleep

Once you get home from the sleepover, take a nap if you need one. It can help improve your mood and give your body extra energy for the remainder of the day. When you do decide to catch some zzz's, make sure you're in a restful environment. Limit all distractions—put your phone on Do Not Disturb mode, turn off the TV and close the blinds.

5. Get in a good sweat in

Take a walk, do some yoga or try a light workout! Exercising is a great way to improve your mood, especially after a sleepless night with your besties. Not only does it make you feel better, but it also improves your mental health. Try to get your body moving for at least 20-30 minutes, even if it's something low-intensity. Trust us, you'll feel the difference.

6. Start up your routine

After staying up all night with your friends, it can take a toll on your schedule. Tbh, your mind and body might still be in sleepover mode. Get back into your daily routine ASAP by listing your to-do's in your planner, setting your alarm clock for the next day and going to bed at a decent time (yes, before midnight!). The sooner you get on track, the easier it will be to bounce back.
