Is Vitamin Water simply soda in disguise?

How often do you down a Vitamin Water because you think it’s a healthy alternative to soda or coffee? If this is you, you may want to think again. According to The Huffington Post, the bad side of these “health” drinks outweighs the good.

Not surprisingly, Vitamin Water is owned by the Coca Cola Company, which has recently started an ad campaign claiming that these bottled drinks are “nutritious and delicious.” Fortunately, those ads have been banned by the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority as it turns out that a bottle of Vitamin Water carries about the same amount of sugar as a can of Coke. And yes, although this bev gives you a dose of vitamins and minerals, it is definitely not ‘nutritious.’

Let’s be real. With all of the junk food and sweets options out there, most of us don’t get the well-balanced nutrition we need. What’s even tougher is that there are so many foods with a ‘health halo’ (which means that people think these products are healthy, but they’re actually not), so it’s hard to navigate which are the culprits. So bypass the unhealthy “health” drinks for plain old H2O. Trust us, you won’t miss the sugar crash one bit.
