Need an extra boost of energy and nutrients in your b-fast? You may want to consider flaxseed. Not only is it super yummy tossed in your cereal or a smoothie, but it also works wonders for your bod--just two tablespoons contains more than 100% of your recommended daily intake for those heart-healthy fats. From bloating to gaining tons' more energy, we've got three reasons you need to add that flax into your morning cereal.

First off, what is flaxseed?

Flaxseed is a tall, slender, blue-flowering plant that has been cultivated for thousands of years--the small, hard, shiny seeds inside, have been valued for their health benefits since ancient times.

So, why throw it in my cereal?

It keeps your bod healthy

Flaxseed is rich in natural dietary fiber, making it a useful remedy for constipation and keeping that heart healthy. It also helps keep your skin, hair, and nails looking healthy, even if you have acne or dry skin. Plus, the essential fatty acids found in it may soothe those unbearable period cramps, too.

It makes you feel happier

The way you eat can have a huge imapct on your mood. That's starting the day off giving your body healthy nutrients can make you feel happy and confident. Take two tablespoons of flaxseed powder and drop it into your cereal for a week to start feeling the difference!

It gives you an energy boost

We'll be the first to admit that getting up in the morning is one of our least favorite things, but with the help of flaxseed, you can start off your day on the right foot. It's full of antioxidants that will get your body feeling refreshed and recharged for your busy day. By putting good ingredients into your body, you'll be feeling great all day long instead of crashing by third period.
