Easy and healthy breakfast options for busy girls
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day but a lot of us tend to skip it because we are in a rush to head out the door in the morning. And that means that chances are you'll feel tired and sluggish until lunch. Below are some *super* easy (and healthy!) breakfast options that you can make in five minutes or less to take on the go. For the girls who love to oversleep: You can even make some of them the night before and grab from the fridge on your way to school.
Toast: One of the most basic brekkies but can be easily upgraded with one of these pairings:
+ Avocado + slice of tomato + cream cheese
+ Peanut butter + sliced banana + almonds
+ Slice of tomato + basil + salt/pepper
+ Sliced apples + peanut butter
+ Fried egg + cheese + cherry tomatoes
Overnight oatmeal: This is something that you can just grab when you are ready to head out the door. Before you sleep, take a mason jar and place oats and milk in it. Add your favorite toppings in and get creative with these toppings:
+ Strawberries + blueberries
+ Brown sugar + cinnamon + maple syrup
+ Banana + chocolate chips
Eggs: Eggs are really versatile and the best option for a warm, filling breakfast with lots of protein. You can whip up an omlette and put whatever you want in it, hard boil the eggs or even just make scrambled eggs. Put some in a bagel for a mess-free meal to take with you.
Smoothies: Smoothies are packed with all sorts of good vitamins and nutrients and great for to wake you up in the morning. Make a smoothie the night before or make it fresh in the morning. Hint: For extra creaminess, add your fave yogurt along with one of these blends:
+ Strawberry + banana + almonds
+ Mango, pineapple, orange, carrots
+ Spinach, pineapple, celery
+ Blueberry, rasberry, orange juice
+ Mango, peach, apple
