Eat Right

These foods you already love are actually super healthy

It can be super hard to maintain a healthy diet when so many of the yummy foods we crave are not so rewarding to our bodies. However, there are some meals you already love that really offer some much-needed nutrition. Here are a few scrumptious options you'll never have to say no to.

Dark chocolate

Dark chocolate, which has less sugar than candied milk chocolate, is packed with good-for-you magnesium, iron, fiber and antioxidants. If you aren't the biggest fan of natural dark chocolate, try mixing it with your fave fruit (may we suggest bananas?) in a smoothie.

Sweet potato

They don't call sweet potatoes a super food for nothing! One medium-sized sweet potato contains about 769% of your necessary daily intake of vitamin A alone! You don't have to wait for Thanksgiving to enjoy them, either. With a parent's help, preheat the oven to 400 degrees, wrap your potato in foil and bake for 45 minutes. Then, add a sprinkle of cinnamon and enjoy this hearty treat for lunch.

Avocado

A common misconception is that all fats are bad for you. While you should definitely stay away from saturated fats, avocados are considered a source of healthy fat, helping to benefit your cardiovascular health. So, dive into your organic guacamole dip knowing you're feeding your body well.

Eggs

A perfect way to start your day or reenergize after a workout, eggs are an amazing source of protein and happen to be very filling. Egg whites are even more beneficial since you're not consuming the cholesterol within the yolk. Hook yourself up with a nice veggie omelet with toast for a satisfying brunch.
