5 ways to reenergize this winter

Need a quick, easy way to get your adrenaline flowing? We’ve got five speedy ways to help ya kick off the covers and conquer the day. Read on for tips even the Energizer Bunny would swear by.

The sniffer picker upper

Buy yourself a wee bottle of those cool essential oils you see in The Body Shop or Bath and Body Works. Peppermint is a natural waker-upper, and you can sniff it when you’re feeling pooped. Or pour a few drops on a damp washcloth when you’re in the shower, place it over your face and brathe in for a minute.

Scare yourself silly

No need to bungee jump off an iceberg or anything. Instead, get absorbed in a spine-tingling suspense thriller. Or pretend you just got busted reading your older sister’s diary and now she’s coming after you…she’s in the hall…she’s at your door…!

Hup, two, three, four

On the floor and give us 10 pushups! No? How about a quick jog around the block if it’s not too icy out. Or try 30 jumping jacks. You’ll get your heart rate up and feel invigorated. Sooo much better than caffeine.

Sweets for the sweet

Just a teaspoon of sugar does more than help the medicine go down. It will give you a bit of a rush that’ll at least get ya out the front door. We opt for the natural fruit high. Try a juicy orange or ripe grapefruit. Stretch your imagination, and the citrus deal will connect your spirit to warm, sunshiny Florida, where they’re grown. Can’t ya just feel the sand between your toes?

Three words: Shake those hips

The easiest way to perk up your mood—and your eyelids? Mambo to some old-school Ricky Martin or Shakira or bust a fresh move on your way to the breakfast table (hello, Pitbull and LMFAO). Pluggin’ in your iPod and callin’ up a playlist packed with no-blues-allowed songs is the ultimate answer to those early morning blahs.
