7 ways to score some "me time" this year

With the news that Selena Gomez has put the kibosh on the rest of her Stars Dance tour because she needs some personal time to get back to being the person she wants to be, it’s made us really think about how we all need that sort of zen time. Why? Because when you’re so busy focusing on everything and everyone else—especially during the holidays—you get rundown. And when you’re rundown, you are at a great risk of becoming sick and apathetic. You become a sort of shadow of yourself—and no one wants to be a shadow, right? Here’s how we’re gonna be snagging a little us time this year…

Yoga. Fashion editor Jess is a huge proponent of daily mat time to help find her center.

Hitting the kitchen. There’s something so rewarding about making something delicious—and then gobbling it up.

Dancing in our undies. With the door closed and the house empty, preferably.

Trying something new that we want to do. Yeah, it’s nice to sign up for Bollywood dance class ‘cause your bud wants to, but how ‘bout those drum lessons for you?

Daydreaming. Because 30 minutes of considering crushes and peculiar Pandemonium plot twists is time well spent.

Discovering new tunes. Songza, here we come!

Hanging our head out the window. OK, maybe not quite, but fresh air makes us feel alive.
