Are you ready to go pro? Here's our awesome athlete checklist inspired by Dance Moms Abby Lee Miller

It’s no secret that I am a huge Dance Moms fans. I love the original girls. I love the original moms. Their fights are my fights—but when it comes to pulling hair and hitting people with handbags, I’m that horrified onlooker standing on the other side of the room. Just in case you were wondering. As the show is on a mid-season hiatus, I’m taking a look back at the years of Abby Lee Miller coaching (and all those wins). She’s all about having her girls act professionally, like the serious athletes and performers they are. Do you make the grade? Take a peek and find out.

#1. You’re the one who hashes out problems and concerns with your teacher or coach, not your mom or dad.

#2. Everything you do is full-out, even if it’s just a rehearsal.

#3. You only need to be corrected once.

#4. You take criticism with a solemn nod and a “thank you,” and maybe a follow-up Q on how you can improve.

#5. And when you feel the need to cry it out, you do it in private at home.

#6. You never miss practice unless you have a really good reason—like being injured, sick or taking the SATs.

#7. Even if you’re benched, you always support the team.

#8. You take it upon yourself to help others…without being asked.

#9. And when there’s someone out there who does something better than you, you ask them for advice on how to improve your own skills.

#10. You love what you do, and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.
