The 5 best shampoos for ultra-damaged hair

We all know how we *should* treat our hair—no hot tools, protection from the sun, limited exposure to chlorine, no brushing while wet...the list goes on. Unfortunately, we don't always remember to treat our tresses so well. The result? Dry, damaged or brittle hair, chock full of split and dead ends.

The good news, though, is that it doesn't have to stay that way. Obviously, the best way to reboot your hair is with a good chop, but sometimes that's not a possibility (especially if it's drastically damaged...and you know the pixie cut would not be the look for you).  Enter damage-control shampoos, products specifically designed to help heal your ailing hair. Check out our five favorites below.
