We Tried It: Yoga you can do with your eyes closed

Get ready for the best fitness tip we've heard all week: Go blind during your next yoga class or practice sesh. Hey, it’s National Yoga Month, so why not give it a try?

No, that doesn't mean donning huge black-out sunglasses or a face mask. We just mean dimming the lights and going through your practice with eyes closed. Whether you're a frequent class-goer or an at-home practitioner (I've been doing mine in the a.m.!), try closing your lids during a few rounds of sun salutations until you get the hang of things, and slowly work up to doing a whole practice with your peepers closed tight. (Having trouble? Try tying a bandanna around your eyes to cut out the distractions.)

Shutting out the world during your practice makes your yoga sesh more introverted and self-reflective. You'll be able to quiet your mind, focus on your breath and notice how the postures feel, rather than spying the cute fitness outfit that girl in front has on. Good luck!

Have you tried doing yoga blind and noticed a difference? Blog it out, yogini babes!
