HEALTHY YOU Q's: Sneak Attack

Q. If I really like my running sneakers, can I just keep wearing them?

Not so much. Working out in broken down sneaks just puts more stress on your bod. Most running experts recommend switching up sneaks after 350-500 miles. Can’t remember the how far ya jogged? Check the rubber on the side of the shoe, where the top meets the sole. If it is starting to get wrinkles, it’s time for a new pair. We talked to trainer Andrea Partland to find out about shoes you wear to the gym and other activities. “I like to change my sneakers every 6 to 8 months. I wear my sneakers everyday, all day and I workout in them. They see a lot of wear and tear,” Andrea tells us. “I check out the soles to see how in tact the treads are. When I start to feel like I am walking in cardboard shoes, I know it's time for a change.”
