Your Bod

Are bubble baths bad for my health?

Is it true bubble baths can cause yeast infections?

While bubble baths, bath salts and scented hygiene products have been linked to yeast infections, it does not mean taking a bath will result in getting a yeast infection. You should be careful when bathing in the tub, though. Soaking for a long time in bath bubbles mixed with hot water can kill the infection-fighting bacteria in your vagina, which makes it easier for yeast infections to develop (yuck!). Rushing to put on your PJs instead of drying off completely is not good for your body, either, so take your time, sweeties.

But don’t worry, we all need a moment to chill and we’re not about to take away your relaxation time. There’s no need to stick strictly to showers, but you should rinse off with cool water right after soaking in the tub to remove soapy residue from your body. When you’re done rinsing, dry off completely with a clean towel and you’re good to go!
