5 steps to follow in a friend fight

Ugh. No one likes it when they find themselves in a fight against their best friends. No matter what the fight is about, it’s always difficult to figure out a way to talk about what happened. So, if you are going through a bump with a BFF and could use tips on how to deal, we've rounded up some tips to follow when you find yourself in a fight with your best bud:

Reflect
When a fit breaks out in the group, the first thing you need to do is to evaluate the situation. Reflect on what happened and think of possible ways to find a resolution. This step is super important because you want to give yourself time to calm down before talking with the others who are involved.

Call A Group Meeting
Reach out to your buds in a super sweet and simple message. Send a group text asking if everyone is free to meet up at the local Starbucks in order to talk. Don’t pressure people into coming or sound demanding, but make sure they know what the reason for the meeting is. Make sure to invite some buds who aren’t directly involved in the misunderstanding to help mediate.

Be Honest
Once your team of friends has assembled, make sure you use this time to actually discuss the problem. It’s easier said than done but you need to be honest! It may be scary but we promise that it will be for the best. When you show that you care about fixing the problem and are determined to find a solution, the other girls will follow as well.

Apologize
Be the first one to admit that you’re sorry for the miscommunication. Not only is it super important for you to apologize, but you also need to accept the apologies of others. Finding a solution to the problem that everyone agrees on will not only solidify your friendship but also prove that you guys can get through anything.

Give It Time
The most important thing is to give it time. Don’t try to force a solution that’s not there. If you and your buds need some separation before hanging out again, then let it happen. It may be hard while it’s happening, but it’s going to make the friendship stronger than ever before!
