Earn extra Christmas cash with these part-time gigs

You can't *wait* to buy your big sis that new pair of booties she's been eyeing upuntil you check your bank account. Yikes. Looks like that cash from your summer lifeguarding job didn't last quite as long as you'd hoped. So what's a slightly-broke girl to do? Instead of stressing, try one of these seasonal opps to earn some extra dough.

Wrap presents at a department store. Big stores often offer giftwrapping to customers around the holidays...which means they need to have enough employees to actually do the wrapping. Head to your nearest mall and ask around to see who's hiring. It's easy and a fun way to get in the Christmas spirit!

Babysit.  Everyone is super busy during the holiday season, which means babysitters will be in high demand. Ask your parents to spread the word for you so that when your mom's friend needs a night away from the kids to do her Christmas shopping, she'll think of you first.

Shovel snow. A classic for those of you who live in snowy states (and who don't mind spending a lot of time in the wintry weather!). Hand out flyers around the neighborhood early on in the season, or wait until it snows and go door-to-door with your shovel. Cash *and* a good workout? Win-win.

Run a hot cocoa stand. OK so it's a little cold for the good old lemonade stand. But who doesn't want a steaming mug of hot cocoa or coffee on a cold winter day? If you live in a spot where a lot of people pass by, set up a little kiosk at the end of your drive or in a public spot. Of course, have a buddy or an adult with you at all times and be safe. Now get to brewing!

Sell crafts on Etsy. If you've got a knack for DIYing, put that talent to good use. Open an Etsy shop and put your cute creations up for sale. Not only will you be making some extra moolah, you'll also be learning valuable skills on running your own business (a resume-builder!). Make sure you ask your parents to help you with online safety and linking up your bank account.
