Feeling lonely this summer? Here's how to ditch the blues

Your besties, sibs and BF are off to camp, vacays, and busy summer jobs. And you’re left home, without much but your ‘rents and the neighborhood pool. But keep that chin up! Avoiding summertime sadness is simple with our tips on rocking the season solo.

Try something new

Whether you’ve had your eye on that adorbs DIY project or you’ve been itching to pick up a cool sport, go for it! Knock out feeling lonely and feeling bored with something fresh and new to do. When fall rolls around, you’ll be psyched to show off your latest skills.

Reach out

When it comes to friends, the more the merrier. Your BGF might be at soccer camp and your bestie may be on her annual family vacay, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find some new buds to chill with! There’s absolutely no reason to feel like your cheating on your pals- they want you to have fun, and branching out could lead to a surprisingly awesome new friendship!

Turn parents into pals

You’ll be surprised by how cool the ‘rents can be if you give ‘em a chance. So spend a day in the sun with mom, dad, or both and learn how much fun you can have with fam. Plus, they’ll be touched that their super sweet daughter put aside some time to hang with them.

Focus on yourself

Use this summer to refresh yourself, both inside and out. Make a quick list of qualities you’d love to work on, like patience, generosity, and kindness. Then make a plan to do a little better each day. To complete the new you, try out the latest beauty trends, rearrange your room, or do whatever else you can to give your life an instant perk-up.
