I think I might be depressed. I told my mom that I might be and she laughed at me. I just walked away but I still cry myself to sleep most nights. I know that she is depressed and that she used to take medication for it.
My parents fight so much and it's never happy at my house anymore. I also have major problems with my brother. I used to be the always-happy girl and now, it's like pulling teeth to get a fake smile out of me. I feel it’s my fault if someone has a bad day. I just want everyone in my life to be happy again.
Hey girl, I'm sorry you're feeling bummed and having to go through this tough time right now. Truth is, every girl you know probably has more problems than she lets on to. Please trust me when I say you're not alone. Especially when it comes to family issues, your feelings and emotions can def get really confusing.
You sound like you've got a lot on your plate so the best thing you can do is work on getting yourself better and clear-minded before you worry about other people's problems. You owe it yourself to be the best you that you can be and taking on the stress of your parents' relationship with your brother AND martial problems really isn't something you should feel responsible for fixing. Of course these issues affect you, so try to work through them.
Seek out the school counselor as soon as you can or talk to your doctor about finding a nice psychologist you could talk to. If your mom has battled depression then she should understand if you ask her to help you in finding the right person to talk to. If you feel weird asking her then ask an aunt or relative you are close to so you can talk to your mom about it. Just letting it out will make you feel better. And talking to a professional will allow you to put all the pieces together. You might even realize that it's not so bad and it won't always be like this. So talk it out start turning your situation and mood around!
