1. Ask your fave GL gals to join.
Use the handy ‘Invite Someone’ button to get the word out
about your club. Post a personal note on profile pages to extend the offer to
join.
2. Keep your updates short—and interesting.
The best updates are ones that get girls talking—ask
thoughtful questions that’ll intrigue your members.
3. Pick a super-unique icon.
Find a cool image or graphic that sums up your club—in one
tiny pic.
4. Choose a title that accurately describes your club, and
uses key words.
Make it easy for girls to find you. Skip the million X’s and
O’s and keep it short and sweet.
5. Update your club often.
Whether that means hiring new officers to get the discussion
going or regularly responding to members’ comments, girls will take notice and
want to be part of something that seems to have a lot of fun stuff going on.
6. No inside jokes, please.
Don’t alienate potential members by excluding outsiders from
your fun. Keep the humor coming, and keep it welcoming!
7. Be yourself!
Potential members will be attracted to your honesty.
8. Nix the negativity.
Trust us, not everyone wants to read a 1,000 word rant on
your little sis’s annoying habits.
9. Keep the advertising to a minimum.
Don’t over-expose your club by posting a million ‘join my
club!’ comments all over the site. Not only will our mods keep these to a
minimum, you don’t want to risk annoying potential members, no matter how great
your club concept is.
10. Keep your fingers crossed for Club of the Day
When you create a new club and submit it for moderation,
your club is automatically entered into the running for GL’s Club of the Day banner,
which is sort of like free advertising. Your club will be featured on the main
club grid page, and you’ll have a special banner at the top of your club’s
homepage. While we would love to say bribing us with cash will get you named
Club of the Day, those are pulled randomly so everyone gets a fair chance.
BONUS TIP (and it’s the most important one!) Have fun!
The most important tip
we’re offering? Have fun with your new club. The goal here is to get a group of
girls together with a common interest—and to hopefully make some new friends
along the way. You’re welcome.
