Easy Hair DON'Ts

With so much advice for your hair out there, it’s not hard to get totally confuzzled.

How can you possibly remember it all?

Well, GL’s gonna mix it up a little, and let you in on some things NOT to do to those tresses. You’ll be on your way to superstar strands in no time.

Don’t: Change It Up Just ‘Cause

Sure, it’s a fun challenge to try trends-of-the-moment on your own ‘do. But remember to be a leader, not a follower! If long hair is your trademark, think it through before chopping it to look like your fave celeb. Embrace change and take some chances, but know when to respect your own unique mop.
Don’t: Be in a Rinsing Rush

Being the great gal you are also means having a super-busy sched. No matter how pressed you get, never skimp on shower time. Not thoroughly rinsing out your shampoo can leave a greasy film on your hair, which totally weighs it down. Take your time squeeze out the suds and you can bank on some major bounce! If you don’t have time for a shower, try dry shampoo or a li’l bit of baby powder to say buh-bye to the greasies.

Don’t: Make Up the Rules

Dyeing your hair can be a quick and cool way to change up your look, but remember to carefully read the coloring instructions. Leave dye on for too long and the cuticles of your strands could get damaged. This means brittle hair and possible breakage…ouch!

Don’t: Be Stingy to Your Scalp

You use sunscreen to protect your face and body, so why neglect your noggin? Avoid sun damage to your dome (which FYI can cause redness, irritation and flaking—ewww!) by pulling on a hat before you head outside. Bonus? A cute topper adds no-brainer style to anything.
