Do you need to see a gynecologist?

Find out now…

Lotsa girls are wary of the gyno. But Dr. Endrika Hinton, a gynecologist at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, says, “You can see a gynecologist any time you’re having problems, but go on a routine basis starting at age 16. This doesn’t mean you have to have a pelvic exam, especially if you are not sexually active.”

So do you need to go? If you answer yes to one or more of these questions, it’s time to make an appointment.

Are you having sex or thinking about it?

Are you over 16 and don’t have your period?

Is your period preventing you from doing what you want to do (super-painful, too heavy, etc.)?

Have you missed your period for more than four months in a row?

Do you have symptoms that could mean a vaginal infection (itching, off-color discharge, odor, etc.)?

Have stuff you want to discuss with a gyno?
