Five Summer Hair Savers!

Sure, lotsa in the sun can bring out natural highlights but, truth is, all the heat and UV rays can be harsh on your hair. Here are GL’s all-time best tips for keepin’ locks lookin’ lovely, even in the hottest of temps.

1 If you’re gonna be outside all day, use a spray with SPF and tie your hair up in braids or a bun to keep the sun from grilling your hair.

2 Spending your days by the pool? Protect your tresses from the chlorine by rinsing your hair before you jump in. This cuts down on the chlorine your hair soaks up, which means less damage later one.

3 Summer means tonsa extra time, so take some extra time to care for your hair. Now’s the time to get a trim, drop the hairdryer and deep-condition often. Hey, having damp strands will keep you cool.

4 If you dye or highlight your hair, make sure you’re using color-saving products. The sun zaps away dye crazy fast.

5 Warm weather can leave ya with a greasy mane. Add a tablespoon of cider vinegar to a cup of water and apply to damp hair. Then, follow up with a clarifying shampoo and conditioner to bust all that oil.
