Perfect Place

I'm so awkward in this world of theirs,
I don't belong here or anywhere.
But when I close my eyes I drift away,
To the perfect world, the perfect place.
Where I am strong, beautiful, and bold;
I have found the one that I'll love till I'm old.
As I sink deeper into the dream,
For the first time I am truly happy.
I have a place, I am a part,
I hold a spot in another's heart.
But if only this were how things could really be,
For when I wake I'm thrown into reality,
Where I'm a stranger to the others here,
And they turn their backs to my fear.
No matter what I do, no matter what I say,
I'll always stick out, but at the end of each day,
I close my eyes and drift away,
To my perfect world, my perfect place.
