Editor's Blog: My workout with trainer Larysa DiDio

How have all you girlies been this summer? I’ve been running tons, but took a day off this week to hit the weights with one of my fave trainers, Larysa DiDio (check out our review of her DVD here).

Not only is Larysa sweet and encouraging (and, oh yeah, trains Supergirl Nastia Liukin), but she spilled some awesome shape-up tips with me.

Larysa likes to alternate exercises between different body parts. So if you do squats, the next move should be push-ups (or something that works a part of your bod that’s not your legs). That way, you get a mini recovery during your sweat sesh. You’ll still do 3 sets of each move, it’ll just be broken up. It keeps it wayy more interesting. Perfect!

Her secret weapon for flat abs? Pilates-inspired moves, which are totally tough-but-amazing. Check out these ideas for inspiration.

Girls MUST strength train. Not only will you tone up faster, you’ll prevent osteoporosis later in life (amongst a million other reasons). Grab your BFF and get buff together—it’ll be a ton of fun—promise.
