Happy Love Your Bod Day!

Here at GL, we are totally into loving the skin you're in. Today, Oct. 20, is National Love Your Body Day, sponsored by NOW, the National Organization for Women.

Loving your body is all about positive self-image. Girls have it tough: We see all sorts of negative advertising all the time telling us what we "should" look like. But NLYB day and NOW are here to tell the 80 percent of U.S. women who are dissatisfied by their appearance that they are beautiful just the way they are.

Don't be so modest! Write a list of all your fave things about yourself. We guarantee it will make ya smile. Remember, beauty is so not skin deep. It's everything about you—your personality, your smarts, your booty-kickin’ athleticism—that makes you beautiful.

Need some quick confidence boosters that will help you love yourself? Check these out:

Your fam and BFFs are your biggest fans. Ask them what they love about you. They'll have no shortage of compliments.

Brighten someone else's day. Tell the shy girl in class how much you love her shoes, or compliment your mom's new haircut. The more you see the beautiful things about the girls around you, the more you'll see it in yourself.

Go ahead, splurge! Save up that babysitting dough, then treat yourself to that gorgeous dress you've been dying for. You'll feel beautiful every time you wear it.

Surround yourself with positives. Ditch those angry lyrics and listen to some more positive tunes. We love "Just The Way You Are" by Bruno Mars. Or write yourself an encouraging note to stick on your bathroom mirror. The more positive your environment, the more positive you will feel about yourself.
