Old and New

Hey girls! Here's a poem written by a GL reader just like you. Tell us what you think in the comments

Old and New

Old me would cry

She’d

Probably say it wasn’t fair

Ask why

Clench her teeth

Pull her fingers in till they couldn’t move

Punch her pillow

Throw her clothes

Toss her head back

Let the tears soak her face

Then

Quietly pull herself together

Brush her hair

Wash her face

Make herself breathe

Turn on the radio

Clean her room

And act like nothing happened

But

When the phone rang

My mom started to cry

And I knew why

I stood up

Took a deep breath put my hands on my hips and told life I was ready

This is new.
