3 secrets to bust the winter blues

February can leave ya feeling blah. That’s why we were psyched to stumble across the book Fit Soul, Fit Body, which is all about linking your mind and body to boost your happiness. Keep reading to see what we’ve spied...and what yourself smile by the end.

1. Go slow.
Whether you’re working on your resolution or are starting to train for a 5K, it’s best to take these things slow and steady. Rushing to do too much, too soon will rock the boat too much (and when it comes to exercise, might lead to injury). It’s fab if you wanna give something your all, but the old “baby steps” principal holds true for a reason.

2. See the big picture.
OK, you know when you’re having a bad day and you simply CAN’T get over whatever it is that’s stressing you out? That’s the very moment when you need to inhale and see your prob within the context of something bigger. Sure, say, leaving your basketball uniform at home is a bummer: You won’t be prepped for the game and your coach may be mad. But it’s not life-ending you will be fine at the end of the day. Exhale and figure out how to fix the prob.

3. Get outside.
How many endless hours do we all spend on our laptops and connected to our cell phones. Dropping all the devices and getting some fresh air is an easy way to feel amazing. Whether you take your dog for a run or go for a walk with your BFF, simply being in nature will boost your spirits. Too cold? Bundle up—it’ll be a winter adventure out there. Have a blast!
