Expert tip: 3 reasons why athletes should try yoga


We chatted with yoga expert Tara Stiles about why athletes of all kinds should try yoga. Keep reading to find out why you should hit the mat before spring tryouts!

1. It boosts your skills. “Yoga is great cross-training for athletes,” Tara tells us. ”It opens up range of motion in the body, which makes you faster at your sport.”
2. It’s strength-training, without hitting the weights. “Yoga builds strength evenly in the body which ads to your power in performance, it builds lung capacity which enhances endurance, and increases focus, which leads to better concentration on the field,” she spills.
3. Yoga blasts stress, which is fab on the field. “It helps you stay relaxed while you're exerting yourself which makes you really efficient,” Tara spills. Hmmm...less pressure and better performance? We’re in!
