Alone - An original poem

Hey girlies! Happy National Poetry Month!  Here’s an original poem from a GL reader like you. Leave your critiques in the comments please.

Alone

Alone I sat,

Afraid as ever.

I felt so different like black and white.

Every night, I sat there and thought

about you and me, knowing it was

only just a dream.

You could never be the one to

hold my hand or laugh at my jokes.

I sat in sorrow as clear teardrops

rained down my cheeks.

I hear my cell phone ring.

I answer it and it was him…

the guy I've been waiting for.

Next thing I know he calls me beautiful and invites me to the dance.

I swear my heartbeat was faster

than a cheetah chasing an antelope.

My life was perfect…

Because he was there.
