Redo your room: Craft a cool lampshade!

In our June/July issue we showed you some awesome quick fixes to take your room from drab to fab. Sick of your boring bedside lamp? Brighten things up with a pretty floral glow.

What you’ll need:

A roll of pretty wrapping paper (we chose floral)

A lampshade

An LED lightbulb

Scotch tape

Scissors and a Sharpie

What you’ll do:

With the lampshade upside down on a flat surface, unroll some of the wrapping paper and line the inside of the shade, gently tracing the outline of the rim onto the paper using the Sharpie. When you’ve finished, cut the wrapping paper along the traced line. Then, secure the paper to the inside of the shade using small pieces of Scotch tape with the patterned side facing out (so the inside is blank). Feeling creative? Decorate the rim of your newly improved shad with pompom trim or stick-on gems. Reattach the shade to your lamp base, and gently screw in the LED light bulb. Flip the switch, and voila!

Tip: Using an LED light bulb reduces heat, plus it’s eco-friendly!
