Dancing secrets from Chelsea Kane

Have you been following Season 12 of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars? Might want to tune in if ya haven’t already. Our girl Chelsea Kane (ya know, Stella from JONAS) is waltzing her way into the semi-finals with her pro partner Mark Ballas. And you can catch it all TONIGHT at 8 p.m.
Chelsea recently took a break from her cah-razy dancing sched to chat with us about her experience so far, spilling some behind-the-scenes dirt for you GL gals.
GL: What has been your favorite memory from the show so far?
Chelsea: The cast. We get along so well, which is weird when you’re in a competition with complete strangers, people you probably never would have met otherwise. Monday nights after the performance are my favorite because everyone can finally kind of relax.
If you could take home any of your DWTS costumes, which would it be?
Any of my fringe pants. Whether they’re the American flag ones, the white sulfur ones, or the black Lady Gaga ones. I love fringe pants and I want to wear them out with my friends all the time.
Give us some behind-the-scenes dirt from Dancing with the Stars.
The hilarious stuff is usually Mark and I getting in trouble. We had a water fight the other day where we literally soaked down the hallways of the dance studio and got in so much trouble! Just [last week] we were tired and hungry, so I had pizzas delivered to the building. The whole crew came to hang out, along with the other dancers, and we had a little pizza party.
What’s one thing about dancing you’ve learned throughout this experience that you could share with other girls out there?
Sell it. Once you’re out there, just be in the moment. I’ve noticed that when dancers are really stressed, most of the comments from the judges are, “You looked like you were thinking too much.” Thinking about those little extra details like if my shoulder’s turned out or this or that is not worth missing the moment. I think that applies to so many things in life.
OK, so if you win the mirror ball trophy, where are you going to put it?
I’m going to hang it from my ceiling. Not only because everyone will see it there, but it’s a disco ball and disco balls have to be used.
Want Chelsea to win this season of Dancing with the Stars? Be sure to tune in tonight at 8 p.m. on ABC and cast your votes!
And as if the dancing machine doesn’t already have enough on her plate, she just launched ChelseaKane.com, an interactive community for cool cats to discuss music, fashion, hotspots and more. Check it out and let us know your thoughts.
