Eyes closed
because there's nothing here to see,
never enough time
hearts pound vigorously.

Lips closed
because there's nothing left to say,
there's words in your eyes
I'd ignore them anyway.

Ears closed
because I don't want to hear my heart screaming,
hard work to the curb
overload on dreaming.

Heart closed
because all the cards are on the table,
and you didn't like what there was to see
I played my best hand
and you just discarded me.
