This Goodbye’s Forever

As I sit here,
Staring at the screen,
Re-reading those words,
A thought comes to me.
Is it you being you,
Saying what you can to swoon me,
Or the real feelings you have,
Hoping you’ll never lose me.
The thing with you,
Is I can never tell.
If “I love you” is “I love you,”
Then why did you leave?
You left you me here in the cold,
And now you tell me,
“I want you back, babe.
I’m sorry for what I did.”
Sorry would’ve counted,
Two months ago, but now,
I’m not so sure.
If this is you,
And this is me,
Can we ever really be?
The first time was great,
It ended too fast.
Now though I think,
I’m done with your crap.
