Dress for Success: Steal Rachel Berry's A+ look!

With season 4 of Glee just around the corner (psst, it’s premiering tomorrow night on FOX), we can't help but get excited to see all our favorite characters back on the small screen—especially Lea Michele's character, Rachel Berry. Stealing this fun look she wears in the season’s second episode (Sept. 20’s “Britney 2.0”) is simple, not to mention absolutely amazing for school.

Read on to see how you can achieve this preppy school look…

Start with a simple A-line skirt in a fun, bright solid. This is a staple in Rachel Berry’s closet, and provides a nice basis for your outfit. A flouncy skirt like this can easily be dressed up or down, while instantly making you look polished and poised.

Now we need a nice, basic shirt. This part of the outfit shouldn’t make much of a statement, as you don’t want to compete with the other pieces of the ensemble.

Next comes an absolute must for this look: a preppy sweater or cardigan. Choose a nice neutral color with details in the same color as your skirt to keep the outfit balanced and refined. We love this colorblock cardigan from J. Crew.

Finish off your Rachel Berry-inspired look with a simple pair of shoes. If you’re going for a more casual look, we suggest some cute flats in the same color as your neutral sweater.

Trying to dress it up? Try knee high socks with a pair of chunky heels. Gray socks will pull the outfit together without overpowering the bright colors.

Top off the socks with some cute, classic heels. Look for a color that complements the rest of the outfit and adds the perfect finishing touch.

Be sure to tune in Thursday, Sept. 13 at 9 p.m. on FOX to catch Rachel Berry in one of her fabulous outfits. Then come back and share your thoughts.

What do you think of Rachel’s look? Would you test it out in the halls of your school? Blog about it, babes.
